![]() A lightweight plastic plate that follows the state of the regular nail is secured to the tip of the nail to add the ideal length and shape. Gel Extensions furnish the strength of acrylic nails with a natural nail. Overlays are an incredible choice for some events and give you a more everyday look than extensions. Instead, gel overlay gives an exceptionally standard, clean, and improved look. Gel overlay doesn't extend the nail or give it any length, as in the case of fake nails. Maintaining them is also vital, and you should go to these to keep your regular nail healthy. Overlays need similar measures of consideration as extensions. Overlays can be done with stain/gel polish or the utilization of coloured acrylic. An overlay is either acrylic or hard gel applied onto the regular nail, however NOT broadening the length. ![]() Overlays are marvellous for the people who truly battle growing their nails. The nail battle begins with overlays or gel extensions. So, while most of us are confused with these terms, let's clear the air between overlays and gel extensions. Unfortunately, there are so many technical names that we listen to in the nail salon and get occupied as to which one would be the best. Intended to look as genuine (or phoney) as you like, the process is speedy and simple and will give you clean, exciting looking nails for a long time in the future. An extraordinary method for adding strength and length to your regular nails, overlays and nail extensions are a decent choice to consider on the off chance that you have feeble nail beds or don't have the tolerance to grow them long normally. So I prefer acrylics but that’s just because of my lifestyle, it’s definitely personal preference. It’s definitely a great strengthener if you want to wear your natural nails ! Also extremely forgiving if you do it at home as opposed to acrylics. In terms of dip, in salon its usually more expensive, and a little less sanitary if they do not pour the dip in a separate container. I currently do my acrylics at home and my nails have been totally healthy whenever I take them off. ![]() Some salons like to cut corners and pull them off instead of soaking them off to save time / use cheaper acrylic but a good nail tech won’t do that. They should not be weakening your natural nails, the problem is usually removal or toxic acrylic. I prefer acrylic with tips because I think it’s stronger and my nails are usually exposed to a lot. Well I’ve done both dip and acrylic at home and in salon so here’s my opinion. But if you want a nail enhancement daily, acrylic or hard gel would be best. Same goes for full cover gel tips (Aprés is a notable system). I feel like dip is good as a temporary set, such as for an event. The same goes for colored acrylic but acrylic can be done in clear or painted over with gel polish. If you want a new color, it has to be removed completely. They can be refilled but it’s a more challenging process. There is no strength or structure, and the nails often look bulky. It’s acrylic powder being poured on some regular polish base coat. While dip nails are preferable to some, I don’t care for it. They can be extended if you want a different look. They can be refilled, which is cost saving in the long run. It would give added strength while still looking mostly natural. Since you already have length on your nails, I think an acrylic overlay would be best. Chop shops (non-standard salons that do acrylic full sets for under $40) are not going to leave you with healthy or even nice looking nails. They will be able to give you a non-damaging nail service that lasts and uses quality products. Going to licensed nail techs or standardized salons is best practice since they actually have professional education on nails, skin, and nail health. The preparation technique by the nail tech, if done improperly, is what damages nails. ![]() Please report any comments that fit this description so we can act accordingly.
